6 Questions to Get You Started with Search Engine Optimization

6 Questions to Get You Started with Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization has a reputation for being too technical and complicated. In this blog, we’re going to break things down by asking a few simple questions related to SEO:

Is your website mobile-friendly?

If your website isn’t mobile-friendly by now, then you’re either behind the times or a risk-taker. Google is now factoring mobile-friendliness in its search algorithm. If you haven’t taken care of this yet, then it should be the first thing on your to-do list.

Do you practice content creation?

If you write blogs and articles once or twice a week, then you have nothing to worry about. But if the content on your website isn’t fresh or current, then you need to start practicing content creation.

Are you spamming links?

Some businesses do this without realizing it. Google doesn’t like it when businesses spam links, and it increases your site’s chances of getting hit with a penalty. If you’re not sure, then just scale back in this regard.

Is the online information about your business accurate?

Your business listings have a big impact on your local SEO. Make sure that your information on social media corresponds to your information on your website. Any discrepancies will damage your SEO.

Do you practice social media marketing?

Although their relationship isn’t entirely clear, we know that social media accounts affect Google search results to some extent. The more likes and shares your posts get on social media, the better your page rank will be.

Do you have a good brand reputation?

And finally, Google takes your reputation into account in regard to your page rank. This works on two levels: you need to have good reviews on sites like Yelp and Google+, and you need to establish credibility with your content.

Pandas and Penguins Love Search Engine Optimization

Pandas and Penguins Love Search Engine Optimization

There are many people who love pandas and penguins, the cute animals that live in impossibly cold environments. However, pandas and penguins love Google, the California multinational company that is the single most important name in search engine optimization (SEO). As a matter of fact, Panda and Penguin, the code names for somewhat major overhauls to Google special algorithm, their secret and incredibly complex formula that dictates what websites show up high in the search engine rankings, changed search engine optimization forever, rendering useless techniques that used to be extremely potent. Here is a bit more detail about them.

Panda was a Google update that focused on the content of websites. In the older days of the web, practices like article spinning were incredibly common. Some webmasters would take an article from one website, jamming into a spinner, a software program that replaced some of the words in the website with synonyms, meaning that the new article was not a blatant copy of the old article, allowing it to pass through Google’s old system. After Panda article spinning and other questionable practices went the way of the dodo.

Penguin was a bit different from Panda, but still very important. This update focused on the quality of backlinks for websites. In the old days, some business would sign up for services that gave them automated backlinks, referrals from websites that only referred other websites. Google stopped this with the Penguin update.

How to Market Your Business

How to Market Your Business

The growth of a business is the goal of any business. The best way to grow your business is to get your name out there. The best way to get your name out there is marketing. There are two types of marketing, promotional and attraction. But how does that work? Here’s how.

Promotional marketing is exactly what it sounds like. It involves billboard, commercial, and sponsorship. But most people look for their information on the web. So, it can also be done with search engine optimization, where people can search Google and find your business, with pay per click ads, and, finally, you can send emails to previous customers and potential new customers. You should also invest in social media. You can use all of these in an effort to get customers into the door and to your website. But that isn’t enough. You need to reel them in once they arrive.

Attraction marketing involves using your business’s image to close sales or gain clients. Once you get visitors to your website, your website must portray that your business knows what it’s doing. It has to look professional. It also has to be user friendly. Visitors need to have the ability to find to information they need in a quick and efficient fashion. If your website can’t do this, you lose business.

Now, if you use these tactics, your marketing campaigns should do well. However, the best way to market your business is through your reputation. You need to deliver results. With you success, your clients will do your marketing for you. But if you fail, all the marketing in the world won’t help you.

3 Simple Online Marketing Tips for Business Growth

3 Simple Online Marketing Tips for Business Growth

A business can never stop growing its marketing efforts and this is something every successful business professional understands. Keeping yourself regularly updated on marketing trends and well-educated on the best marketing tactics to employ is the way to thrive as a business. This post will discuss three key online marketing tips for business growth.

Keep Your Website Updated Regularly

Want to turn potential customers away before you even knew they were there? Have a website that hasn’t been updated in months. It is the equivalent of having a storefront with the “Sorry, We are Closed” sign on the door all the time. Always have the latest information about your company updated on the website so they know you are active and relevant.

Make Sure You Don’t Have a Badly Designed Website

Another way to deter potential customers from choosing you for their needs is by having a cheaply designed website. Everything needs to be laid out in a way that is easy for visitors to navigate. Your design also needs to be fresh, sharp, and eye-catching. Poor graphics will cheapen the quality of your professional image.

Have a Blog

Blogging is one of your best friends when it comes to online marketing. If your business doesn’t have a regularly updated blog with fresh, original content posted, then it needs it now. Make it a point to have several days out of the week that you post a new piece to your blog. When your content is informative and unique, it ups the potential for having it shared across social media platforms by readers of your blog, thus bringing in more eyes and potential customers.

Expand Your Business Growth With a Professional Company Website

Expand Your Business Growth With a Professional Company Website

If you are the owner of a business, and do not have a website; it is time for you to step into the new era, and market your business online. Today, more people use the Internet to search for products and services that they want and need. Creating a website will get your company more exposure, and connection with customers/clients all over the world. Before creating a website, you need to know what information to include, as well as information to exclude.

Target Audience

It is important to know your target audience. Who will purchase the products or services offered? An effective website captures the eye of a target audience, and make them want to stay on the site, and most importantly want what the business has to offer. Remember, a first impression is a lasting impression, and this refers to websites as well. A great website is the key to marketing and branding any company.

Color scheme and graphics are extremely important when it comes to designing a website. It is important to think of your website as a business office, just online. The site should reflect the business’s personality, as well as the products/services offered. You do not want to overdo it with the colors on your website, nor should the site include tons of moving and scrolling characters.

Business Mission

Deliver a powerful message to customers/clients about the products and services offered. It is important to build trust between your company and the customers/clients who need your business. The more people know about you and the company aspirations, the more likely they are going to patronage your business.

Current Website Information

Always keep your website current with the latest information. Whether you are selling products, or delivering a specific service, keep the site up-to-date with current information. If the business is no longer carrying a certain product, that is the type of information that needs disclosing on the site.  Also, if the business is celebrating with a big sale, or have new products for sale, share this information with customers/client’s as well. Shoppers want to feel that the business has their best interest at heart.

Contact Information

List the contact information for the business on the website. If the business has more than one location, it is important to list each location, and the manager’s name. It is just as important to also list the hours of operation for each location. However, if you are offering products or services online, do let your customers know they can order the same store products from your online store. Many people still do not know that many businesses offer their same store products online for sale.

Connect to Social Networking Sites

Most people today use social networking sites. It is important to take advantage of all opportunities to connect with people who need your service, or products. Integrating with these sites will help your business connect to friends of friends, other business owners, and people who may not know your type of business even exist. Social networking is an effective method used to increase a business sales.

For people who are comfortable with designing a business website, and have no experience in html coding, it is best to hire web design professionals to do the job for you. You want an experienced company, and one that knows how to get your site ranked high on the web. A highly ranked website is one that is easy to discover when searching on the Internet. Business Growth Through Branding – 3 Important Facets for any Small Business

Business Growth Through Branding – 3 Important Facets for any Small Business

Branding is among the most significant facets of any business, small or big, B2B or retail. A highly effective brand technique provides you with a significant edge in progressively competitive markets. However what precisely does “branding” imply? What kind of impact will it have on your business growth?

To put it simply, you can think of your brand as your promise to your customers. It assures them exactly what they will be able to expect from your services and products, and it distinguishes your offer from your competitors’ offers. Your brand comes from who you are, who you would like to become and who people see you as.

Brand Strategy & Technique

Your brand technique is the ‘how, what, where, when and who’ you intend on interacting and delivering on your promise in your brand messages. Where you promote is also a part of your brand strategy. Your different distribution channels as well as what you communicate verbally and visually are another part of your brand technique, as well.

Brand Promise

The promise you make with your brand is powerful. It is the declaration you make to your target audience and customers that allows them to know exactly what to expect each time they connect with you and your services or products. Your brand promise is very real, and it’s something you are able to prove. It is in your business’s philosophy, culture and environment. It reflects the way you serve your customers and provide value to them, the way you make an issue they have disappear and the way you make their lives far better. Your brand promise is the reason why they cannot do without you and will not go anywhere else.

Brand Authenticity

Your brand needs to not just talk the talk but also walk the walk. If not, you will present yourself inconsistently as well as confuse your audience. When you have strategically defined your target audience and exactly what makes you different, authenticity should come naturally. Do not be hip and informal if that is not you, or if that is improper for the type of service you offer.

Being a small company does not mean that you are no big deal. Your brand is important in helping your business, big or small, be thought of as a serious player. Believe in and think big with your brand, and make it attractive enough to capture potential customers and win their trust.
